North Canterbury's biggest and best sporting asset, MAINPOWER STADIUM, is ready to meet the needs of our sporting community.
 
Everyone in our community has the opportunity to use this fantastic facility, whether it is the sports courts, conference rooms or Stadium Fitness Centre.
MainPower Stadium is operated by NC Sports (AKA the North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust), whose aim is to promote and facilitate healthy sport and recreational opportunities for everyone in our community.

SPORTS COURTS

With its four full-size courts set up for a range of different sporting codes, as well as a Sports House administration hub, MainPower Stadium will become the home of many of North Canterbury's most popular sports, and will foster the growth of all indoor sports.

4 x Basketball, 4 x Netball, 4 x Junior Futsal,
1 x Senior Futsal, 4 x Volleyball,
6 x Badminton/Pickleball, 1 x Korfball

STADIUM FITNESS CENTRE

MainPower Stadium includes Stadium Fitness Centre - a modern and dynamic gym set up for individuals, teams and group training.  Try Revl GT and PRAMA group classes, which are fast gaining a reputation as two of the most dynamic classes for people of all ages to develop skills and keep fit and active.

Membership to Stadium Fitness Centre is just $23 per week - and as a bonus you also get access to Rangiora Fitness Centre and all its different classes and equipment.

SPORTS HEALTH PROVIDERS

Active Health North Canterbury has treatment rooms on-site at MainPower Stadium providing quality physio and podiatry services, and other treatment specialists, to users of the Stadium and Fitness Centre, as well as the general public.

PROSSER QUIRKE CONFERENCE ROOM AT MAINPOWER STADIUM

Alongside the sports court, MainPower Stadium includes the Prosser Quirke Conference Room which can be hired for meetings, events, presentations, conferences and more.  With seating and tables for up to 90 people the room can be set up in a variety of configurations, and can be divided in half for smaller meetings.  Also included are a projector and TV, plus a sound system/microphone on request.
Paired with Bellgrove Cafe MainPower Stadium is able to provide hot and cold drinks, food and refreshments for all conference room users if required (at additional cost).

MainPower Stadium also includes two smaller meeting rooms for up to 8 participants, each featuring a large screen TV and other equipment for smaller meetings, presentations and conference calls.

NCSRT runs a morning Walking Netball session on Tuesdays for individuals to come along and make up teams.

AN ASSET FOR ALL NORTH CANTERBURY

MAINPOWER STADIUM is a $28M multi-use sport and fitness facility located on Coldstream Road in Rangiora. 

​

Built by the Waimakariri District Council it incorporates four full size sports courts, a community fitness centre, group fitness studios, juice/coffee hub, sports health provider treatment rooms, a sports administration house and multi-function meeting rooms. 

 

The sports courts are be set up to provide for a wide range of sports codes and includes seating for up to 700 spectators to allow for major sporting events.
 

The North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust has been appointed to operate MAINPOWER STADIUM.  This modern facility will help the Trust to continue building on its achievements over the past 35 years in promoting sport and recreation for everyone in our community.  
 

We are extremely excited by the opportunities MAINPOWER STADIUM will provide for all ages - not just the sporting community but also the wider business community, schools and organisations of all kinds across Waimakariri and Hurunui districts - and the wider Canterbury province.
